What do we do?

Donations to the LeRoi Community Foundation are held in a permanent fund. Income generated from the investment of the permanent fund is distributed as grants to “qualified donees” (as defined in the Income Tax Act) whose projects meet the Foundation’s charitable goals.

Giving in perpetuity, you can be assured that the funds you donate will be around for generations.

Fund options

In order to help our donors meet their philanthropic objectives, the LeRoi Community Foundation hosts the following types of funds:

Community Fund

The Community Fund is held for general charitable purposes, and enables the Foundation to respond to a broad range of community needs. Income from this fund may support Field of Interest projects. The Community Fund offers the most flexiblilty for the donor’s charitable giving. For these reasons, the LeRoi Community Foundation encourages donations to the Community Fund.

Field of Interest Funds

Field of Interest Funds focus on a particular area. The LeRoi Community Foundation’s fields of interests are:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Education
  • Environment
  • Health and Welfare
  • Sports and Recreation

Designated Funds

The donor selects a field of interest, a community or a charitable agency to benefit from the establishment of their fund.

Donor Advised Funds

The donor may participate in an advisory capacity in the yearly grant making process.  A minimum threshold as determined by the Board  is required to establish a donor advised fund.

Flow Through Funds

Monies given to the Foundation with the intent of granting the entire amount of capital to qualified donees within the same year or the following year of the Foundation’s receipt of the monies.
